Teams :
Each team comprises of 3 amateurs and 1 professional golfer
 
 
Professional allocations :
Professionals will be allocated to Pro-Am teams once the entries for the tournament have been closed. The professional field will comprise of professionals from both the Sunshine Tour and the European Tour.
 
 
Format :
Fourball Stableford Alliance, 2 scores to count. Local rules will be provided on the day. Professionals will tee off the championship markers and the amateurs off the club markers.
 
 
Handicaps :
Official handicaps are required. Players are required to play off their lower official handicaps.
 
 
Official Welcome Cocktail Party for the Alfred Dunhill Championship Pro-am:
The Official Welcome Cocktail Party for the Alfred Dunhill Championship Pro-am will take place on Monday the 7th of December 2009 in the Leopard Creek Clubhouse from 18h00 onwards.

Light snacks and drinks will be served.

Guests who are able to attend will receive their goodies bag for the following day. Should your shirt not fit, you are welcome to exchange it the following day at the registration desk.
Dress code: Casual
 
 
Goodie Bags :
All goodie bags will be distributed to each of the guests at the Welcome Cocktail Party or alternatively at the registration desk which will be located in the main foyer of the clubhouse on Tuesday morning.

You will receive a Alfred Dunhill shirt, caps, towel and balls.
 
 
Breakfast :
A limited breakfast will be served in the clubhouse in the tournament players lounge.
 
 
Locker room :
All amateurs will be allowed to make use of the Founder Locker Room. The professional golfers will be using the normal Men’s and Ladies Locker Rooms located next to the pro-shop. You are kindly requested not to make use of these lockers rooms.

Please note that there are no ladies lockers rooms available in the clubhouse for the duration of the tournament.
 
 
Golf - dress code :
You are kindly requested to comply with the club's dress code. Leopard Creek Country Club is proud of its standard and every effort is made to ensure that it is upheld. Management and employees have both the responsibility and authority to interpret inappropriate wear and to ensure that standards are maintained.
 
 

GENTLEMEN ON COURSE

Headwear

Traditional golf hats or peak caps. Caps to be worn with a peak forward.

Shirts

Traditional collared or crew neck golf shirts to be tucked into trousers at all times.

Trousers

Traditional long or short golf trousers with belt or clasp. Formal three-quarter length golf trousers may be worn. No jeans cut or cargo pants - i.e. outside pockets

Socks

Short socks and anklets must be predominantly white

Shoes

Only closed heel golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted.

 

GENTLEMEN OFF COURSE

Headwear

Hats and caps may not be worn in the bar, dining room and lounges

Shirts

Regular collared shirts or crew neck shirts or tailored shirts may be worn over trousers

Trousers

Traditional long or shirt tailored trousers or unfaded and untorn jeans. Long trousers are required in the bar, dining room and lounge after 18h00(winter) and 19h00 (summer)

Shoes

Casual shoes with closed heels may be worn without socks, Sandals, flip-flops and crocs are not permitted

 

LADIES ON COURSE

Headwear

Traditional golf hats or peak caps. Caps to be worn with a peak forward. 

Shirts

Traditional collared or crew neck golf shirts to be tucked into trousers or skirts at all times. Tailored waist length ladies golf shirts need not be tucked in. Sleeveless golf shirts may also be worn.

Trousers

Traditional long or short golf trousers with belt or clasp. Formal three-quarter length golf trousers may be worn.

Socks

Short socks and anklets must be predominantly white unless colour co-ordinated with a golf outfit.

Shoes

Only closed heel golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted.

 

LADIES OFF COURSE

Shirts

Regular collared shirts or crew neck shirts. Blouses may be worn over trousers and skirts.

Trousers

Long or short tailored trousers or unfaded and untorn jeans

Shoes

Formal and casual shoes and sandals. Flip Flops are not permitted.

 
Carts:
  • Carts will be used for the pro-am. Two carts per fourball will be allocated.
  • There are only a limited number of carts available at Leopard Creek and all Leopard Creek members who are playing in the pro-am are requested to use their home carts for the day.
  • Carts will be available at the clubhouse and will be marked with players names
  • 90% rule will apply for the day and you are requested to please adhere to this rule in light of ensuring that the golf course is preserved for the tournament.
Should you be a homeowner your co-operation in providing carts for the pro-am would be appreciated.
 
Splash for Cash:
Hole 5 and 16 are the nominated Charity holes. Any amateur who hits their ball(s) in the water on these holes will be required to pay a penalty fee of R200 per ball.

Fees payable in cash.
Charities benefiting from this will be Imibala and the South African Golf Development Board.
 
Team photo:
Team photos will be taken prior to your tee off on the 1st and 10th tee boxes.
 
Halfway house :
Halfway house for all players and caddies (professional) will take place on the tee box on the turn.
 
Water on course :
Water will be available on the golf course at select holes throughout the day. We recommended that you drink as much water as possible.
 
Prize giving function :

The day’s play will be followed by the official 2009 Alfred Dunhill Championship Pro-Am prize giving function.

The prize giving function will commence at 18h00 and will be held in the Alfred Dunhill Championship Pavilion.

Dress code: smart casual.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams and a prize will be awarded for the nearest the pin on the 16th hole (amateurs only).

 
Parking :
The clubhouse parking lot will be used for the tournament village therefore a designated parking area has been created on route to the clubhouse for all pro-am players. A shuttle service will take you to and from the clubhouse. The shuttle service will run until after the pro-am prize giving has taken place.
 
Practice rounds :
Please note that in accordance with the Sunshine Tour and European Tour regulations, the golf course is closed to all amateur golfers from Sunday the 7th of December until the 14th of December 2009. Please note that golf rounds prior to the course closure are restricted to members and their guests.
 
Additional pro-am allocations :
This pro-am is strictly by invitation only and due to the limited field there are no additional spots available.
 
Sun block :
Sun block will be made available on both tees, it is however strongly recommended that all the necessary pre-cautions are made in this regard.
 
Snakes :
Please note that there are a large variety of snakes on the property and that the necessary care and caution must be taken.
 
Travel Arrangements :

Each guest is required to make their own way to and from the venue. Should you wish to fly to Leopard Creek, the nearest airport is KMI Airport (Nelspruit) and there are regular daily flights from Johannesburg. The Alfred Dunhill Championship offers courtesy vehicles service to and from the KMI Airport, which will transfer you from the airport to Leopard Creek or your hotel. Please indicate on your RSVP should you wish to make use of this service.

Accommodation Arrangements :

Each guest is responsible for their own travel arrangements. The promoters have reserved a limited number of rooms at the Pestana Hotel. Accommodation will be for your own account.
